Clubhouse

Long Ditton Cricket Club has had several locations and various names before it came to its present ground, Stokes Field. A team of dedicated cricket lovers worked extremely hard to get the ground from overgrown shrub land to the superb ground it is now. The club gained Clubmark in September 2008 and has good links with Surrey Cricket Club. A large number of players and staff from Surrey Cricket Club assisted 60 parents and players to re-paint the whole clubhouse at the beginning of the 2009 season. Long Ditton was elevated to Surrey Cricket Focus Club level in January 2010.

Project manager Paul Mock took all the photos on this page to document the build from 1999 to 2000. The very first game took place the following year in 2001. This year also saw a host of celebrities descend on the club to play against Long Ditton. Such stars included Graham Gooch, Mike Gatting, Ainsely Harriot, Nick Hancock and Chris Tarrant.
