Well done to the U11’s who beat Malden Wanderers at their own ground in glorious sunshine this evening. Fielding first, the U11’s restricted their opponents to 112. In reply, Long Ditton managed to keep up with the run rate, with Imogen Neely and Oscar Tyrell batting very sensibly, taking well-judged quick singles, before Oscar was run out for a superb 27. A little bit of a wobble then followed, bit a huge six hit by Alex Major took the pressure off, enabling Long Ditton to reach the total with only a couple of balls left. A great game played both teams, with excellent crowd support from the Long Ditton regulars (or should I say cricket lunatics)! Hopefully the game will be just as good against Leatherhead at Long Ditton on Friday.
