Long Ditton will be playing a Twenty20 game against St. Mary’s Church on Friday evening (9 July). Part of the proceeds of the evening will go towards restoration work of the church. The bar will be open from 5.30, with the vicar bowling the very first ball at around 6.30pm, once all the City workers have battled down from London. There will also be a raffle, with bottles of wine and a signed Surrey bat up for grabs amongst other prizes. Margaret Boxall, as ever, will be working hard in the kitchen. Burgers, chips etc will be available for £5, but make sure you order first, to make planning easier. Mark Lambert, as you may have guessed, ordered his weeks ago.
