Many thanks to everyone who came down the club for the Twenty20 game against St. Mary’s Church on a Friday night. It was great to see so many people down the club. Batting first, St. Mary’s faced a very young Long Ditton bowling attack, after a number of LDCC adults mysteriously claimed to have injuries. St. Mary’s scored 143 and then in the fading light, Long Ditton didn’t quite manage to overhaul the total. Afterwards, the Vicar pulled the first raffle ticket out and guess who claimed the signed Surrey bat – Frank Boxall!
Special mention must go to Margaret Boxall and Jean Kite, who worked so hard in the kitchen, on one of the hottest nights of the year and raised a good deal of money for the church restoration.
Looks like this will now be an annual event!
