Saturday League Matches – both abandoned due to rain.
Sunday First XI at home to East Molesey: Having lost by 30-odd runs a couple of weeks ago at East Molesey, the 1sts were looking forward for revenge. Unfortunately things didn’t quite go according to plan and the 1sts again came second.
The Sunday Second XI travelled the short distance to play Hook and Southborough, who were using Chessington;s ground for the day. Captain Sam Cheema lost the toss and Long Ditton was asked to bat first on a difficult wicket. Scoring was hard to come by at first, but runs then did start to come, although so did the wicket. Sam Cheema (30) and Mark Lambert (34) put on a solid partnership, with Sam Cheema batting through the pain barrier, having taken a bang to his finger on his first ball faced. Eventually Long Ditton were all out for 152, which wasn’t enough and Hook and Southborough overhauled it with 10 overs to spare.
