Surrey Cricket has appointed a volunteer co-ordinator, who phoned the Club Secretary last night and had a long chat with him. In particular, she is looking to assist clubs who have members aged 16-21, who wish to volunteer. Surrey Cricket have stated that if young people do volunteer within their scheme, this will count towards UCAS points. A meeting is coming up at the George Abbott School in Guildford, which Mark will be attending as well. It would be great if Long Ditton could get a volunteer co-ordinator to work with Surrey, as this will mean benefits not only for the club, but also the younger members as well.
