Paul Mock scores 120 for Sat 2nds

Both Saturday teams lost, home and away to Weybridge Vandals in the Fuller’s League on Saturday. Having lost the toss. the 2nd XI were asked to bat and Weybridge Vandals thought they would be having a short time in the field. It was anything but, as highlight of the game was Paul Mock’s blistering 120, which included 17 fours and 5 sixes. Despite Weybridge Vandals thinking the total of 237 was more than plenty, LDCC had to contend with a limited bowling attack, plus a short boundary. Only 5 bowlers were in the team, who all performed well, but with only second-change bowlers available this weekend, it was always likely that LDCC would struggle to defend even that large total. Eventually Weybridge Vandals reached the total, but not without scares, beating LDCC by just two wickets.

The First XI lost at home by 110 runs, with only Jason Matthews really troubling the scorer, whilst on Sunday, the First XI lost away at West Byfleet and the Second XI won in a very social match against St. Mary’s Church. Will Bradley top scored with 50, before retiring.
