On a glorious Saturday, Old Wimbledonians were the visitors to Long Ditton. Captain Michael Hall allowed the visitors to bat first, as they were still waiting for players to arrive. Their battheirsman managed to make 209 off their 40 overs. In reply, Long Ditton started well, before losing several quick wickets, but Alan Hutchinson and Sam Nolan settled Long Ditton down, with Alan making 54 and Sam Nolanan reaching 70, which paved the way for a good win.
On Sunday, Yeading were the visitors, who came with a strong batting line up. They reached 278 off their 40 overs, which was always going to be a challenge for Ditton. The run rate with openers Michael Hall and Tom Benett was up there to start with, but when Hall fell, the run rate fell. Bennett carried his bat however, making his first hundred of the season, but this wasn’t enough, with Long Ditton finishing well short of the required total after their 40 overs.
