U12s match report – Sunday 19th May 2013

Home vs Chessington (League) Sunday 19th May 2013

Long Ditton U 12’s retained their 100% win record with another victory. These were more comfortable league points in the bag than those scrapped for at Worcester Park two weeks ago.

With all 12 squad members available, team coach Chris decided to select everyone, rotating the fielding. Long Ditton bowled and fielded well, restricting Chesington to 71 for 6 off their 20 overs. Maiden overs from captain Felix Williams and Leo Rogers kept the run rate down. Ollie L’s figures were also excellent – 4 runs off his 3 overs. Wickets fell to Felix Bound and Josh Pasley (Josh’s first for his new team, and there were two wickets for Imogen in the 19th over. Two run outs completed the wickets, with Frazer, Ollie C, Stephen and Tommy fielding solidly and Ben energetically keeping wicket.

Chasing 72 to win, Long Ditton started confidently, but quickly lost Felix in the 5th. Freddie was caught off the last ball in the 9th over with the score on 37. Imogen was joined by Ben at the crease needing 35 to win off 11 overs, a target they easily reached in the 15th over.

Long Ditton won by 8 wickets with 5.5 overs to spare. 2 out of 2 for the season so far.
