Only one win was recorded this weekend, which these days is something of a rarity. The Saturday First XI were soundly beaten by Whiteley Village and the Second XI lost to Newdigate. Highlight of the game for LDCC was Charlie Hinchliffe making a 50, even doing a reverse sweep! Number 11 batsman Mark Lambert was very relieved he managed to survive not out, to allow Charlie to get his half century.
On Sunday, the First XI won in a League game against Chertsey, whilst the Second XI travelled to the beautiful ground of Kew Green. Captain Danny Cheema won the toss on a hot day and elected to bat. LDCC posted 165, which was a great effort, especially from John Parkings who scored 47 and Joe Rogers, who scored 32. In reply, the Kew Green batsman made very short work of chasing the runs, which pleased everyone who wanted to get into the bar early! Click on the Play-cricket link for the scorecards.
