Important coaching changes from ECB and Surrey Cricket

Good Morning

I am writing to let you know that the Coach Education Courses for this winter are now open for application.

There have been some large changes to the programme and details of the changes can be found at ECB’s website – http://www.ecb.co.uk/development/coach-education/.

The main changes to the programme are:

<!–[if !supportLists]–>·         <!–[endif]–>Safeguarding and Protecting Children Course – will now be integrated into the Certificate Courses so candidates will not be required to attend a course separately.

<!–[if !supportLists]–>·         <!–[endif]–>First Aid Course – still required and booking form containing list of courses attached

<!–[if !supportLists]–>·         <!–[endif]–>Young Leader replaced by Cricket Activator (information and course dates to follow later)

UKCC Level 1 no longer exists – replaced by Coach Support Worker (one day attendance based course – information and course dates to follow later)

UKCC Level 2 split into two Certificate Courses:

Certificate in Coaching Children for those working with 6-13 year olds – booking form attached

Certificate in Young People and Adults for those working with 14+ – booking form attached)

The Certificate Courses will have a maximum of 18 candidates per course so we expect places to go quickly. Therefore can I suggest you make every effort to ensure that identified coaches are given the information about the courses as soon as possible.

Please also note that unfortunately our partnership with South Thames College has come to an end which means the reduced rate for U19s is no longer available.

If you have any questions or queries please contact myself or Sarah on [email protected] or [email protected].

Kind regards

Simon
