Not for the first time this season, but the youngest by far, another player scored a century at home on Saturday. Batting first, the Second XI racked up a huge 292 off 45 overs, against Cobham Avorians 3rd XI. Highlight of the day was Tommy Daniels scoring 119, which included 21 fours. Was great to see players on both sides applaud Tommy’s hundred. Dave Oldham and Mark Lambert, who umpired a marathon 43 overs of Long Ditton’s innings, were very relieved they did not have to make a decision! The First XI kept up the winning ways, beating Putney by 33 runs in the limited over format of the Fuller’s League.
On Sunday, the First XI lost by 9 wickets to Thames Ditton, whilst the Second XI also lost to Wimbledon United. Click on the Play-Cricket link on the right to see the scorecards.
