Tommy Daniels was top scorer with 51, in the opening game of the 2014 season at home, against local rivals West End Esher. Having won the toss, skipper Ian Antonio elected to bat and in their 35 overs, LDCC posted 157 for 6. In reply, West End benefitted from some early season fielding slips and cold hands, as numerous catches were spilled, which ultimately cost the game for LDCC. Wickets were shared around the LDCC bowlers, but in a tight, West End Esher beat LDCC by 4 wickets, with 7 balls to spare.
