On Saturday, both games were abandoned due to rain. The First XI’s game away at Hampton Hill was abandoned without a ball being bowled, whilst the Second XI’s game at home against Sheen Park was abandoned after an early tea, though bowler Charlie Hinchliffe did pick up 2 wickets before the rain came.
On Sunday, the First XI beat West End Esher by 50 runs, with Mike Hall making 127 not out. His innings included 18 fours and 3 sixes. Pick of the bowlers was captain Tom Bennett, claiming 2 for 34 off his maximum 8 overs.
At home, the Second XI were narrowly beaten by St. Mary’s Church by 3 wickets with 1 ball to go in the 30 over match. Joe Rogers was top scorer with 71 not out. Ben Cheema was unlucky to be run out with a straight drive being directed onto the stumps by the bowler having made a classy 33 and keeper Steve Williams made 47 not out.
Adam Barlow and Tom Leaning were the top wicket takers for Long Ditton.
