Chairman’s Report:

Nigel Hardy welcomed members to the 54th LDCC AGM. He noted that the Committee has acquired 3 female members and 2 members of the current first team so there is no shortage of enthusiasm and ideas

As a trial the Colts will all train on a Friday night next year – it is hoped that this will bring in extra revenue for the club.

On the field the 1st XI won the League Cup – congratulations to them.

The Saturday 2nd XI improved this year and 2 colts – Tom Daniel made his first century and Matt Baker took 50 wickets. Special mention to Charlie H who made his first 50 for the senior side.

The End of season party was very successful and a big Thanks to all concerned for arranging it.

Thanks also to Sylv, Jan & Margaret and to all the committee members.

Captains’ Reports:

Tom Bennett to stay as Sunday 1st Captain as well as taking on the role of Fixture Secretary. All other Captains will stay the same.

Colts’ Report:

A mediocre season with all age groups finishing 3rd in their respective League’s apart from the U11’s who had finished 4th.  The Latter also won the spirit of cricket award.

Next year it is proposed to run an U14 team in  a different league so that fixtures can be arranged on a different night, allowing U13’s to help out to make up the numbers.

All training will be on a Friday night with the aim of sharing ideas and methods, pooling resources and ultimately raising the standard. It is hoped that it will turn in to a social evening as well.

Hon. Treasurer’s Report

Laurence Hegarty reported that the club had made a loss of £2,872.

Bar takings were up on the previous year but donations were £4000 less than last year. There were savings made on cricket equipment compared to last year.

The Utilities were up mainly because some were paid in this year instead of last and the rent went up as scheduled.

A card reader is being investigated to make it easier to take card payments for both subscriptions and bar payments.  It could also be used for collecting match fees.

With the approval of the Chairman it was agreed that subscriptions would rise. There would be an early pay deadline of 1st May and after this players would be liable for  £5 increase.

Colts subs will be £85

Adults £70 before 1st May – £90 after

Students £25 and £5 match fee.

Captains to be made responsible for enforcing rules.
