The senior teams both picked up good wins over the weekend. The Saturday League sides both won, whilst the Sunday side won against West End Esher. One of the highlights of the weekend was Gareth Plunkett picking up his 200th wicket for Long Ditton on Saturday in the Fuller’s League. Carel du Plessis and Ben Cheema both made 50s in a high scoring game on Saturday away to Worplesdon and Burpham.
On Sunday, a youthful team took to the field against West End Esher 2nd XI, beating West End by 67 runs. In-form all-rounder Freddie Goodyear opened the batting with keeper Steve Williams and made 36, Joe Rogers continued his batting form with 29, Louis Williams was undefeated with 67 and Chris Neely made 29. Great to see the younger players really holding their own now in the senior sides.
