Many thanks to all of you who came down to the club on Saturday, 27th March. It was great to see so many young players practising after such a long winter. The Surrey players who came down and spent some time coaching were extremely impressed with everyone. They particularly commented on how enthusiastic everyone was, how much everyone seemed to enjoy being down the club and how knowledgeable the juniors were about cricket and Surrey cricketers. For the second year running, a junior player caught the eye of the Surrey staff and has now been invited to go down to the cricket school at Surrey for District trials, which is great news for the club.
Whilst most most of the junior members were out practising in the nets, another young member was expertly painting the rest of the club we didn’t have time last year. Charlotte Downey spent the whole morning helping John Parkins paint the walls behind the bar. Thanks Charlotte and everyone who came down!
