The Club Secretary received the e-mail below from the ECB today. It looks like a really good scheme. I’ve ordered 10 packs, so if you want to help out your club AND get something in return, please let me know as soon as possible by e-mail at: [email protected].

Hi all,
Now that CricketForce has finished (for most of you) and we head towards the new season, I would really like to promote elements of the ECB’s vCricket Programme to you – with particular emphasis placed upon rewarding your young volunteers aged between 16 and 25.
Throughout 2010, we are officially launching vCricket in all counties, but rather than wait for us to come to you, here is your chance to get in early.
In order to help clubs build a sustainable volunteer force for the future, we are encouraging 16-25 year olds* to get involved with non-playing aspects within their clubs. This can be coaching, fundraising, scoring, umpiring, web design, photography, catering, NatWest CricketForce or anything else… as long as it’s helping the club.
All they need to do is record their hours of volunteering in their vCricket Log Book, get the hours signed off and receive certificates and ECB kit in return,
At 25 hours they receive a certificate and an ECB vCricket polo shirt, at 50 hours they get certificate and an ECB vCricket hooded sweater and at 100 hours, a certificate and limited edition silver pin badge.
So, if you had any 16-25 year old volunteers helping you out at NatWest CricketForce, please feel free to use this as a carrot to keep them involved throughout the rest of the season. Remember, this is a free benefit to your young volunteers, so please make sure that they don’t miss out.
If you would like to know when we are officially launching vCricket in your County, or would like to order some log books for your young volunteers, please contact me. I’d love to hear from you.
All the best,
Chris
* Awards are available to 16-25 year olds only as the project is available through the charity v – the providers of voluntary opportunities for 16-25 year olds.
