Dear members, as I’m sure you’re all aware we have been told that cricket is indefinitely suspended at our level. We are all gutted and hoping to get back out there as quickly as the nation’s health permits.

You may have noticed that we haven’t sought membership fees at this stage, we know this is a difficult time for everyone.  The club still has some costs we need to meet whilst we’re closed – mostly to ensure our facilities are playable as quickly as possible when we return.

cricket is indefinitely suspended at our level. Membership is the clubs most important cash flow at this time of year, and it may be some time before we can access funding from Sport England and the ECB – we are in the process of applying. The club has taken all the steps we can to minimise or outgoings, with particular thanks to Stepping Stones Nursery and our groundsman Chris Notton.

In the mean time we would like to ask is whether our members would be happy to pay membership fees, or make a donation of an equivalent value through our Go Fund Me page – £7000 is approximately the income we will lose over the next few weeks, so we have adopted that as our target.

This contribution is entirely voluntary and any smaller donations would be more than welcomed.  We are a small club and these contributions are really important in helping us guarantee our future into 2021 and beyond. We will ensure that our membership policy reflects the goodwill and kindness of our members when we get back to the season.

To parents, we are actively considering what we can offer our junior members during the summer holidays. If you would be interested in helping develop a plan to provide coaching and other activities for our colts please contact

 [email protected] or

 [email protected].

If you’re happy to pay your membership fee or make a donation through GoFundMe we’d be delighted to receive them and they will make a big difference.

Thank you in advance for your support and we can’t wait to see you back on the cricket pitch, or in the bar soon.

Following the Government’s latest advice around social distancing, it is with sadness and reluctance that we recommend that all forms of recreational cricket are for now suspended.
