The Saturday 2nd XI got LDCC’s League season off to a winning start, travelling to Effingham CC, with a superb 15 run victory. The 1st XI’s home game was called off. with the ground still unplayable.
The Sunday XI travelled to the picturesque ground of Hampton Hill, edging home by just 4 runs!
The 2018 coaching season for the Under 11s to the Under 15 age groups start on Friday, 20th April at 6.30pm. The Under 8s and 9s start Sunday 22nd April at 10.30am.
Sadly Long Ditton’s first senior matches of the 2018 season this weekend have had to be called off. After weeks of rain the ground is not yet ready for senior cricket. With a good weather forecast for the next week hopefully Stokes Field will see its first cricket of 2018 next weekend.
Coaching for Under 8s and 9s for the 2018 season will start with weekly coaching commencing at 10.3oam on Sunday, April 22nd. Payment for the season is £90 and should be paid through the All Stars Cricket link below:

The club will then join the nationwide All Stars programme, which officially starts on Sunday 13th May, after a very successful 2017 season. The coaching will then finish on Sunday 22nd July, as we will continue after the All Stars programme ends.
Junior players at this age group do not need any equipment for the first few weeks, before own personal All Stars kit is sent directly to the home of the young player.
Please not the timings are different to that shown on the ECB All Stars programme. Some of our volunteer coaches do not live close by, therefore have to spend time travelling to the ground.

Not surprisngly given the monsoon rain on Saturday, both games for the senior XIs were abandoned. The Sunday XI were narrowly defeated by an agonising 9 runs. Highlights: T Leaning 3-36 with the ball and Cheema 89 with the ball.
The All Stars sessions for the Under 8s and 9s have now finished for this season. Don’t forget to keep practising over the summer wherever you can!
Congratulations to George Bradford, who scored his maiden century with a huge 194, allowing the Sunday XI to chase down 256 against Chiswick in a thriller at home. This season has seen several high scores, with George topping the list. Highest runs scored so far are:

The Annual Dittons Shield match takes place at Thames Ditton, Giggs Hill Green on Friday, starting at 2pm. Get down there if you can!
Due to the success of the All Stars programme, not to mention the fantastic weather we’ve enjoyed each Sunday, we’re running an extra session this Sunday. Times remain the same – 10.30am to midday. This will be the final Under 8s and 9s session for this season.
